Ascot House is an attractive Victorian house built in 1869 where the Wood family have welcomed guests for over 30 years.

The city centre is just a 15 minute stroll, or a short bus or taxi ride away, and we provide free, enclosed car parking to the rear of the house.

Free high speed internet access is available throughout the property and there is a dedicated customer computer and hard wired network connection in reception.

There is a spacious and comfortable residents lounge where you can relax and watch television or plan your day in the city.  Tea and coffee are also served throughout the day in the lounge.

Ascot House YorkDelicious English and vegetarian award-winning breakfasts are served to you in our attractive dining room. Continental options are also available from our buffet with generous portions to start your day.

Ascot House is next to public gardens where during the summer you can watch the old English game of bowls. There is a nearby pub offering good food and also within walking distance are an excellent range of restaurants we can personally recommend to suit all palates and pockets, as well as theatres and wine bars. There are a variety of different events happening all year round.

We welcome well behaved dogs and can recommend pet friendly eating places. Should you wish to see a little more of Yorkshire, the Dales to the west, the Moors to the north or our beautiful Yorkshire coast are each an hour's drive away.

June Wood and her son Rob, resident proprietors, have a lifetime's knowledge and love of York and are available to help you plan your day should you require it.
